Editorial Roles and Responsibilities
This document outlines the roles, responsibilities, and ethical expectations for editorial board members of the SEISENSE Journal of Management (SEIJOM), in line with COPE guidelines.
1. Editor-in-Chief
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the journal.
- Oversee the editorial process and uphold publication ethics.
- Make final decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection.
- Appoint section editors, editorial board, and advisory board members.
- Address ethical concerns, conflicts, and complaints.
- Coordinate with the publisher on journal operations and improvements.
2. Section Editors / Associate Editors
- Manage peer review for manuscripts in assigned subject areas.
- Select and communicate with suitable reviewers.
- Recommend editorial decisions to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Ensure ethical standards and timely processing of reviews.
- Promote special issues and quality submissions.
3. Editorial Board Members
- Review 2–4 manuscripts per year (or more if available).
- Provide fair, constructive, and timely reviews.
- Support journal promotion and recommend contributors/reviewers.
- Advise on scope and strategic direction of the journal.
- Declare and avoid any conflict of interest.
4. Advisory Board Members
- Offer strategic guidance and subject-matter expertise.
- Support long-term goals and policy development.
- Recommend ideas for special issues or improvement.
- Serve as ambassadors of the journal within their networks.
- May occasionally review papers on invitation.
5. Conflict of Interest Policy
- Editors must disclose any personal, financial, or academic conflicts.
- They should not be involved in decisions where a COI exists.
- Confidential information must not be used for personal benefit.
6. Appointment Term
Editorial appointments are open-ended unless either the journal or the editor chooses to end the role. Termination can be requested by either party through written notice via email.
